Chocolate Sour Cream Cake

  • 1 stick margrine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 8oz sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Sift in 1 Cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 4 Tablespoons cocoa
  • Bake in a square pan
  • 30 minutes at 350F

Directions:
    I have added these instruction in 2006.
    1. Grease or line one 9-inch cake pan.
    2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    3. Combine flour, sugar and salt.
    4. Melt chocolate with butter and water.
    5. Add melted chocolate mixture to flour mixture and mix lightly.
    6. Add sour cream, vanilla, baking soda and eggs and mix well for 2 minutes.
    7. Pour batter into pan and bake until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
    8. Bake for abt. 30 minutes.

*** Melinda Winslow - Germany 2006 - This recipe was found simply as a list of ingredients on a slip of paper with the name Dorothy Bishop(my Nanny) written on it. I have added instructions and hope you enjoy, I'm guessing the recipe came from the 1950's or 1960's I have no way to confirm this.
