Ingredients:
- Sift together
- 2 1/2 Cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- Cream together
- 1/2 Cup butter
- 1/2 Cup shortening
- 1 Cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 Tablespoons milk

Directions:
1.Preheat oven to 400F (200C).
2.Cream together butter shortening and sugar.
3.Add eggs one at a time, then add in vanilla and milk.
4.Next, combine flour, baking soda and salt, then add to the
sugar-butter mixture a little at a time until combined.
5.Drop by spoons onto ungreased baking sheets..
6.Bake for 12 minutes.
* I line cookie sheets with baking paper.

Notes:
*** Melinda Winslow - Nanny and I made these cookies when I
was very young and when I was about 12 years old I ask her for the recipe. She
made them from memory, so one day she stopped and measure each ingredient as she
made the cookies so I could have the recipe that was in her mind. We had these
right out of the oven with a fresh cup of coffee(a little coffee with my milk).
I have enjoyed these cookies for so many years.... and hope you will too...
